Home/Resources,Tips/Why Two Cats Are Better Than One

Thinking about adopting a cat? Here’s a little secret: two cats might just be the perfect number. At Peninsula Colony Cats, we currently have three bonded pairs looking for loving homes—and they come with double the love, not double the trouble!

The Perks of Adopting a Pair

  1. Built-in Companionship
Cats are social creatures, especially if they’ve grown up together. Bonded pairs provide each other comfort, playtime, and grooming—helping prevent loneliness and anxiety when you’re not home.
  2. Healthier & Happier Cats
Having a buddy can reduce stress and boredom, leading to healthier habits and fewer behavior issues. Plus, they burn energy playing with each other, which means less midnight zoomies for you!
  3. Easier Transition
Moving to a new home can be scary—but having a familiar face makes it so much easier. Bonded pairs settle in faster and tend to feel safer when adjusting to their new environment.
  4. Double the Love
Let’s be honest—what’s better than one purring, biscuit-making cuddlebug? Two! With bonded cats, you’re adopting a ready-made friendship and twice the affection.

Meet Our Dynamic Duos

We currently have three sets of bonded kitties waiting for forever homes. Each pair has grown up together or formed a special bond in foster care—and we’d love to see them stay together.

Meet Crabcake & Shrimp – Dynamic Duo, Certified House Comedians

These bonded brothers are estimated to be about 7 months old and are still waiting for their forever home—making them Peninsula Colony Cats’ second longest non-foster residents.

  • Shrimp is sleek, glossy, and likely part-Bombay. He’s a confident house panther with a flair for zoomies and charm.
  • Crabcake is the brains of the operation—and also the narrator of their story. Smart, playful, and very aware of how cute they are.

They’re smart, energetic, and endlessly entertaining. They ask for patience, Churu on demand, and a fully stocked enrichment station (cat trees, tunnels, wand toys—you get the idea).

Looking for a bonded pair that will make you laugh and keep you on your toes? These boys are ready to make the rest of their first year unforgettable—in your home.

Shyla & Phoebe – Sisters. Survivors. Sunbeam Seekers.

At just four months old, this bonded pair has already faced more than most. Rescued from a tough start, Phoebe and Shyla are now healthy, fully vetted, and microchipped—ready to write their next chapter together.

  • Phoebe (gray) is the social butterfly—playful, curious, and always ready to explore.
  • Shyla is more reserved, but with patience and love, she blossoms into a gentle and affectionate companion.

These two thrive on companionship, curiosity, and warm naps in sunny spots. They’re looking for a home that understands the power of patience and the joy of double the love.

Kimchi & Sriracha – Sisters with Spice and Sweetness

This pair is as flavorful as their names suggest. Both stunning and unique, Kimchi and Sriracha are six-month-old sisters with big personalities and bigger hearts.

  • Kimchi is sweet, shy, and loves sunbathing in the window. She’s food-motivated, curious, and always ready to back up a buddy in need—especially if it’s her favorite human kid.
  • Sriracha is the bold leader of the two. Social, playful, and always in the mix, she doesn’t love being picked up but adores head scratches on her own terms. (Tortie alert!)

They thrive in a home with other cats, older kids, and understanding humans who appreciate a little spice with their snuggles.
